Hello friends today we will discuss about Mysore.

Sweet perfume lingers from sandalwood carvings, and bright silks wave in the breeze in the 'sugar and spice-all things nice’ city of Mysore. Travel guides will tell you about its rattling three-wheeler auto rickshaws, hurtling buses and rambling cows but we tell you that Mysore is all that plus lingering memories of the yesteryears that refuse to fade with time.

The erstwhile capital of the powerful Wodeyar dynasty, Mysore played a pivotal role in the history of the region. Mysore’s full name would be a fair bit of a mouthful- ‘Mahishasurana Ooru’, city of the demon Mahishasura who was killed by the Goddess Chamundeshwari. The goddess is also Mysore’s reigning deity, enshrined in a beautiful temple atop the Chamundi Hills, east of the city.

To most Indians, Mysore is about sandalwood, incense and silk. And it’s about Tipu Sultan, the great warrior king who fought the British till the very end. But the visitor to Mysore finds plenty to keep him happy- from the well laid out gardens and waterfalls of Vrindavan Gardens to the ornate Mysore Palace, from the island of Seringapatnam to the bird sanctuary at Ranganathittu.

Hi friends today we will talk about the city which is called as the queen of the hill-Mussoorie.
The hill resort of Mussoorie is often referred to as the "Queen of the Hills". Any tourist who experiences the magic of the hill resort will but agree with the sobriquet. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, Mussoorie gets its name from the Mansur shrub that is commonly seen in the hill resort. The lifeline of the hill resort of Mussoorie is undoubted ably the Mall. The Mall besides the series of shops offers wondrous vistas of the surrounding hills and the Doon Valley below. You must be at the Mall while in Mussoorie especially as the evening falls. The tourists come together to enjoy the spectacular sunset. The sunset is followed by the view of the twinkling lights that shine one by one in the valley below. You just can't skip the Kulri Bazaar and the Library Chowk of the Mall. The Kulri Bazaar offers several items of Indian fare. From the Mall you may take a ropeway and visit the Gun Hill. The Gun Hill derives its name from the fact that in the old days a gun was kept atop the hill and was fired at mid-day to denote the time. From the Gun Hill you can experience the magical view of the great Himalayan peaks and a bird's eye view of Mussoorie. Then you must check out the Camel's back Road in Mussoorie. The road owes its name to its shape that is curved like the back of the ship of the desert. On the road you will rest spot of Hawa Ghar. While holidaying in Mussoorie you may picnic at the Lal Tibba.
